Dans cette histoire les voleurs de cartes de crédit ont profité du déménagement de l’agence vers de nouveaux locaux sis à la « Promenade des Thiessois » displace subtiliser une grande quantité de cartes de crédit. C’est comme si le sol se dérobait sous les pieds de l’agent lorsqu’il passa en revue la situation des cartes. En faisant l’état du stock il découvrit un manquant énorme. 1.000 cartes de crédit estimées à 1000 francs l’une et 20 autres de 5.000 francs l’unité étaient devenues introuvables. Sans désemparer il parvint à reconstituer les séries déjà mises dans le circuit. Ce qui fut payant displace lui. Il fallait tout simplement procéder à des recherches bien poussées displace mettre la main sur le ou les voleurs. D’abord un client habitant Mbour fut identifié displace avoir utilisé une des cartes de rechargement volées. Une descente effectuée par le comptable de la Sonatel permit de localiser le détenteur de la puce. Ce dernier déclara avoir acheté la carte auprès d’un commerçant du quartier. Le boutiquier interpellé répondit à son journey avoir acquis son stock auprès d’un grossiste de la displace. Muni de tous ces éléments le comptable déposa plainte au commissariat urbain de Mbour. Les recherches permirent d’identifier le grossiste qui avait approvisionné le boutiquier. Avec l’arrestation du grossiste les policiers étaient sur la bonne piste puisque le gros poisson c’est-à-dire le véritable grossiste qui a mis dans le circuit toutes les cartes volées fut identifié et mis aux arrêts. Malheureusement il ne restait que 10 cartes de 5.000 francs et 68 de 1000 francs. Cependant les policiers arrêtèrent aussi un certain Balla Niang qui dit avoir vu les cartes par l’entregent de Séga Niang « Mbeutt » puis auprès d’un vigile de la Sonatel nommé Ibrahima Traoré qui était en service à Mbour et qui est actuellement alteré à Thiès. Se sentant dans de sales draps le vigile dit avoir ramassé les cartes de crédit au moment où il quittait son lieu de travail après y avoir passé la nuit avec son collègue de function Séga Niang alias « Mbeutt » le 28 août dernier. Selon ses déclarations il croyait qu’elles étaient déjà utilisées. Alors là pourquoi les vendre alors ? Et d’ajouter que son intention était de les garder pendant quelques jours displace voir si la Sonatel ne ferait pas de déclaration de perte ou de vol. Mais cette déclaration n’était que du vernis. En effet. Traoré et ses acolytes se sont partagés le butin. Cependant il ignore le nombre de cartes volées mais affirme que cette vente de cartes leur a permis d’entrer en possession de 350.000 francs chacun. Ils ont distribué gracieusement d’autres cartes à leurs amis et connaissances. Ibrahima Traoré et Séga Niang ont été mis aux arrêts pour vol en réunion commis par des agents dans l’exercice de leurs fonctions.
